DrainDAD Deck

Ok guys so I was looking at past DrainDAD decks for ideas in case I decided to build DrainDAD irl. I test decks in real life as well as on Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2009 - Stardust Acelerator and generally get an idea of how well I can do with the deck and how well it does against remotely good versions of top tier decks in real life. I tested this on Stardust Accelerator against Judgment Dragon, and most of the time he generally gets the best of me with sacking me with Judgment Dragon, Celestia or Honest and generally topping Heavy Storm when it royally screws me over. Well when I played him using this deck, I did really damn well, this deck has excellent speed, usually gives you exactly what you need or at least something you can use. I didn't dead draw with it, and the deck in the end left Judgment Dragon with no cards on his field, and "Skill Drain" + "Beast King Barbaros", "Colossal Fighter", "Goyo Guardian" and "Destiny Hero - Doom Lord" staring him down when he only had 200 life points left. So without further ado, here's the deck.

Monsters:
[2] - Beast King Barbaros
[1] - Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind
[1] - Dark Armed Dragon
[2] - Destiny Hero - Defender
[1] - Destiny Hero - Doom Lord
[1] - Destiny Hero - Fear Monger
[2] - Destiny Hero - Malicious
[1] - Destiny Hero - Plasma
[1] - Elemental Hero Stratos
[2] - Krebons
[2] - Mystic Tomato
[3] - Phantom Dragon
[1] - Sangan

Spells:
[2] - Allure of Darkness
[2] - Book of Moon
[2] - Destiny Draw
[1] - Emergency Teleport
[1] - Gold Sarcophagus
[1] - Heavy Storm
[3] - Trade-In

Traps:
[2] - Bottomless Trap Hole
[1] - Call of the Haunted
[1] - Mirror Force
[3] - Skill Drain
[1] - Torrential Tribute

Extra Deck:
[1] - Armory Arm
[1] - Black Rose Dragon
[1] - Blackwing Armor Master
[2] - Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
[1] - Colossal Fighter
[1] - Flamvell Uruquizas
[1] - Goyo Guardian
[2] - Magical Android
[1] - Mist Wurm
[1] - Red Dragon Archfiend
[2] - Stardust Dragon
[1] - Thought Ruler Archfiend

So there is the deck, now some things may look, "weird" but it actually works. DrainDAD became rather biggish after Jeff Jones won at SJC Anaheim, teching "Phantom Dragon", I believe a single copy of "Destiny Hero - Plasma" and only two copies of "Beast King Barbaros". I think his deck actually had a few flaws because of this. I decided his 2 "Beast King Barbaros" idea with a single copy of "Destiny Hero - Plasma" wasn't a bad thing, it was just the fact that "Destiny Hero - Plasma" and "Phantom Dragon" could result in dead draws. I can't tell you how many times I've dead drawn them in real life or just in testing. I realized a way around this would be to use "Trade-In". "Trade-In" is a spell card like "Destiny Draw" for level 8 monsters, discard one level 8 to draw 2 cards. Simple effect and its pretty good. "Destiny Hero - Plasma", "Phantom Dragon" and "Beast King Barbaros" are all level 8 monsters. "Destiny Hero - Plasma" is searchable via "Elemental Hero Stratos", "Phantom Dragon" benefits from any monster that Special Summons, examples would be; "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast", "Judgment Dragon", "Dark Armed Dragon" and "Chaos Sorcerer". "Beast King Barbaros" alone is a 1900 beat stick if you choose to summon it without a tribute or can wipe out all your opponent's cards if you tribute 3 monsters to summon it, and it keeps its 3000 attack points. Using all of these results in an easier way to use the deck, because with "Trade-In" in this deck, if you happen to dead draw any of the level 8 monsters, you can simply dump them to draw 2 more cards. When I tested this deck I went through three draw cards in my first turn. "Allure of Darkness" and two copies of "Trade-In". Aside from the wacky level 8 monsters and the amount of each I use, the deck is self explanatory, and so far its proven to be a really good deck. I'd recommend trying it.

Side Board Tech - Looking At Some Possibilities

Ok so I thought I'd cover some cards I think should see more side deck play. There are a lot of cards that decks do depend upon to do well. When I talk about each card I'll give explanations and so on. Anyways without further ado, lets get this show on the road!
________________________________________________________________

Drastic Drop Off
Counter Trap Card
Activate only when your opponent adds a card(s) from their Deck t
o their hand, including drawing a card(s). Your opponent discards 1 of those cards.

Drastic Drop Off, why you may ask. Well consider what most decks use:

Allure of Darkness
Destiny Draw
Solar Recharge
Charge of the Light Brigade
Gladiator Proving Ground
Gladiator Beast's Respite
Elemental Hero Stratos
Reinforcement of the Army
Sangan
Fortune's Future
Trade-In
The list goes on folks. They are all cards that you see in just about any competitive deck right now. Most of the top decks right now have their main cards added in the list above. D-Hero based decks use Allures, Destiny Draws and Reinforcement of the Army with Elemental Hero Stratos. Lightsworns use Charge of the Light Brigade and Solar Recharge. Gladiator Beasts have Elemental Hero Stratos(if the player uses more than 1 Elemental Hero Prisma), Gladiator Proving Ground, Gladiator Beast's Respite and Gladiator Beast Samnite. Just about any deck has Sangan, Fortune Ladies are sure to be big and they have Fortune's Future and Fortune Lady Water. Trade-In is probably the least likely card you'll come across but fits in Hopeless Dragon and that's pretty much it for competitive decks. All of the decks I've just mentioned and the cards they use either draw cards or add cards from the deck. Drastic Drop Off is much better than Drop Off because of this, and the fact it can be activated at any time, like a regular Drop Off during the Draw Phase or at any time during either players turn. The cards I've listed are cards that the decks I've mentioned depend upon to give them what they need. Charge of the Light Brigade, you waste 3 cards to add 1 Lightsworn monster to your hand from the deck, similar to Reinforcement of the Army. Drastic Drop Off makes you drop the very card you just added from your deck to the graveyard, you just wasted a card. Now in Lightsworns I suppose if you mill Necro Gardna or Wulf, Lightsworn Beast off Charge of the Light Brigade's effect, you don't lose so much. Draw cards I really don't have to explain, the sad part however is Drastic Drop Off basically makes your opponent -1. Discard to activate, lose the card they activate, they draw 2, you play Drastic Drop Off, they're forced to discard one of the cards they drew. That puts them pretty much back where they started minus the card they discarded for the cost, that's pretty bad. So you can pretty much tell why I think this card would be excellent tech for side decks.
________________________________________________________________

Royal Oppression
Continuous Trap Card
Pay 800 Life Points to negate a Special Summon of a monster and the effect of a card that Special Summons a monster and destroy it. Both you and your opponent can use this effect as long as this card remains face-up on the field.

So, this one should be kind of obvious however I think people may over look it and realize they need it after it's too late. With Fortune Ladies being a new possible big thing as well as Fish, you also have to look around and see that Lightsworns and DAD decks are running around and they are still putting up one hell of a fight. A list of cards you can expect to worry yourself with without this card sided or mained in your deck would be:

Fortune Lady Dark
Fortune Lady Light
Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth
Dark Armed Dragon
Judgment Dragon
Synchro Monsters
Destiny Hero - Malicious
Gladiator Beasts

These are all good examples of some things you would like to note cause without Royal Oppression they'll probably give you more trouble than you think. Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier will be mass released on November 10th if memory serves, a new level 6 Synchro Monster to worry about. People discussing Royal Oppression really shouldn't be needed but again I feel people will over look and NOT use this card when more than likely its a must in the side deck now. This being said I see Drain decks possibly doing something at the jump in Columbus.
________________________________________________________________

Ladies and gents I could go on and on but these are the two main cards I see as possible Side Deck tech cards, and with how many searcher spells out there and how heavy this formats become on special summoning, the two above cards are what you need to start siding or at least try them out. There are new cards I'll probably review at some point as sort of an add on to this article as time passes. Im sure the Shonen Jump will provide us with other cards people have decided to tech in their side decks, and I'll be sure to review some of their decks on here as well as whoever wins the jump, assuming its not Blackwings. Anyways stay tuned for more articles coming soon!

New Deck Idea - TragoSynchro

Hey guys, figured I'd post this up here cause in testing it actually worked pretty damn well. For a while I've been trying to perfect the new TeleDAD deck. By new I mean the new way its run, or at least it should be ran. There is more than one "Tele" card out there.

Telekinetic Power Well
Quick-Play Spell Card
Special Summon any number of Level 2 or lower Psychic-Type monsters from your Graveyard. You take damage equal to the total Levels of those monsters x 300.

Ok so now we know the other "Tele" card in the game. For its cost its actually a very decent card. Special Summon any number of Level 2 or Lower Psychic-Type monsters at the cost of 300 life points times their total levels. Well one Psychic-Type monster is famous above all others, at least from the level 2 or below; Krebons. Krebons is a level 2 DARK Tuner monster who is obviously Psychic-Type with a kick ass effect to boot. How does Telekinetic Power Well do jack for decks now? Well first look at the build I've come up with currently and let me know what you think.

Monsters: 20
1 Dark Armed Dragon
3 Dark Grepher
1 Darklord Zerato
2 Destiny Hero - Dasher
2 Destiny Hero - Fear Monger
2 Destiny Hero - Malicious
3 Krebons
3 Phantom of Chaos
3 Tragoedia

Spells: 12
2 Allure of Darkness
1 Brain Control
2 Destiny Draw
1 Emergency Teleport
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mind Control
1 Reinforcement of the Army
3 Telekinetic Power Well

Traps: 8
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
2 Dimensional Prison
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute
_______________________________________________________

Monsters: 20
1 Dark Armed Dragon
3 Dark Grepher
1 Darklord Zerato
2 Destiny Hero - Dasher
2 Destiny Hero - Fear Monger
2 Destiny Hero - Malicious
3 Krebons
3 Phantom of Chaos
3 Tragoedia

Ok so lets look at the monsters. I already know what you're thinking: "Why no Elemental Hero Stratos"? Well The answer is it's not needed. The point here is to dump Dasher, Malicious, Darklord and Tragoedia to the graveyard with Dark Grepher and play off their graveyard potential. With Tragoedia and Darklord in the graveyard, you can copy them with Phantom of Chaos, and you probably more so want to copy Tragoedia. You can milk it by taking a monster and actually modify Phantom of Chaos' level to that of another monster in your graveyard. More times than not while I was testing this, I had a level 6 in my graveyard. Now being DARK, I can dump Krebons to the graveyard too with Dark Grepher. This would be where Telekinetic Power Well comes in. If you dump Krebons you can bring it back with Telekinetic Power Well, its an excellent card for recycling lost Krebons. Between Tragoedia and Malicious you have potential level 8 Synchro Summon abilities. The main fault I see with this deck is D.D. Crow and The Transmigration Prophecy since they send cards out of play or back to the deck.

_______________________________________________________

Spells: 12
2 Allure of Darkness
1 Brain Control
2 Destiny Draw
1 Emergency Teleport
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mind Control
1 Reinforcement of the Army
3 Telekinetic Power Well

Traps: 8
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
2 Dimensional Prison
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute

Onto the Spells and Traps. Now for the most part, these are all just your average standard cards. I've personally added Dimensional Prison, obviously Telekinetic Power Well and don't play with a full set of Destiny Draws. I side into Drain basically with the third Destiny Draw, Defender, a set of Barbaros and so on. Anyways I don't need to really explain most of this but if you have questions ask.

Hope ya like the deck and comment with feedback and fixes!

Layout Change

As some of you may have noticed I have changed the layout again. I figured I'd have my YouTube channel back ground and layout on here the same so yeah. Um, im gonna try and have some more articles/decks or whatever up later. Too tired to really think of anything at the moment so yeah, just letting you all know. Also the layout originally like most have the posts on the left and info/links on the right. I felt like changing things up a bit and I like it. Might try this with other layouts in the future but for now this layout will remain.

Deck Review 2 - Fortune Ladies

Well another deck review in just a few days. Again another of my decks. With Stardust Overdrive now released, I figured we'd look at my build for Fortune Ladies. I've been thinking of ways to run them and how to go about building the deck. I find that this is the current best way to run them. I've had a few people talk to me not knowing how to build or even run the deck. So just some advice to those who don't pay attention to the OCG; WATCH OCG DUEL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE! And check out sites that put up information about the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG. http://shriek.twoday.net/ works just fine if you want info on the latest OCG info! Now here's my build for Fortune Ladies.

Monsters: 20
3 Beast King Barbaros
3 Fortune Lady Light
3 Fortune Lady Fire
3 Fortune Lady Wind
3 Fortune Lady Dark
3 Fortune Lady Water
2 Fortune Lady Earth

Spells: 11
3 Future Visions
3 Fortune's Future
3 Dimensionhole
1 Heavy Storm
1 One for One

Traps: 10
3 Interdimensional Matter Transporter
2 Slip of Fortune
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Call of the Haunted

Monsters:
Ok so monsters are mainly just the Fortune Ladies. This is how the deck MUST be. The deck is pretty much like Lightsworns, you can add maybe one or two extra things but its mostly Lightsworns. Fortune Ladies are similar, however instead of cards like Plaguespreader, Honest and Necro Gardnas, Fortune Ladies require a lower monster count to work and therefore you dont have much room for anything else outside of Fortune Ladies. Beast King Barbaros is probably the only card you should run outside of the Fortune Lady monsters, this is because of Future Visions. When Future Visions is out, it removes any monster Normal Summoned from play and during the owners next standby phase its replaced on the field in attack position. Since Barbaros leaves the field it gets its original attack back. Fortune Lady Light gets a bonus from being removed from play too. Removing Fortune Lady Light from play with Dimensionhole, Future Visions, Slip of Fortune and Interdimensional Matter Transporter equals a free Fortune Lady from your deck to the field. With any of the cards I just mentioned however, you add the requirement to activate Fortune's Future. By returning a removed from play Fortune Lady to the Graveyard, you draw 2 cards. While you really don't want to have Fortune Ladies in your Graveyard, you still get something out of summoning and removing Fortune Lady Light from play, getting another Fortune Lady, and then drawing 2 cards. Thats pretty insane. Now to finish off this monster area, I would like to say that there is another monster I have been thinking of trying as sort of a Side Deck tech card. Necroface. Not only does it return all removed from play cards to the deck when Normal Summoned, but when removed from play it removes the top 5 cards of both players decks from play. If they summon a monster and lose it to Future Visions, then you summon Necroface, they dont get their monster back and 5 cards get removed from play. Which will likely feed a Fortune Lady out of play to use Fortune's Future. So im not sure yet but hey, the decks finally completely released. We'll see how people do their decks.

Spells/Traps:
For the most part I explained basically how the deck depends on the spells and traps. Fortune's Future depends on having a removed from play Fortune Lady, this isn't hard to do with Future Visions, Dimensionhole, Slip of Fortune and Interdimensional Matter Transporter. As I stated above I am also considering teching Necroface in the Side Deck. 3 copies of Future Visions, Dimensionhole and Interdimensional Matter Transporter and 2 copies Slip of Fortune mean its easy to remove anything from play. Necroface benefits from that, just like every other monster in the deck. One for One is the only card I think I haven't discussed. It helps bring out Fortune Lady Light and helps you get the engine going faster. For the most part, Cyber Valley, Tuningware and Fortune Lady Light I believe are the main reasons to why One for One was limited. But anyways thats my explanation on the spells and traps. There really isn't much else to say about them.

Hope you like the deck and if you have any suggestions feel free to make a comment or something.

Deck Review 1 - Fishy Beast

Ok, so its not the best name but I figured I'd do one of my own decks as a starter and I dont know what else to call it. So anyways heres the build:

Monsters: 20
3 Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth
3 Beast King Barbaros
3 Oyster Meister
3 Royal Swamp Eel
3 Golden Flying Fish
3 Fishborg Blaster
2 7 Colored Fish

Spells: 12
3 A Legendary Ocean
3 Moray of Greed
2 Pot of Avarice
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Brain Control
1 Lightning Vortex

Traps: 8
3 Fish Depth Charge
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute

Im basing the deck on how I'd build in real life and I dont have certain cards. I was looking through cards earlier and people were posting on my trade list on Pojo mentioning they have fish and all of the sudden it hits me. Coelacanth doesn't prevent monsters it special summons from being tributed. Ok.. so that generally means +3-4 monsters off the bat, and most people use Oyster Meister and Royal Swamp Eel or use Eel with another level 4 fish to synchro summon a level 8 monster. But as you can see I've added Beast King Barbaros. When its summoned by tributing 3 monsters, you destroy all cards your opponent controls and it keeps its base/original attack rather than dropping to 1900. Being able to swarm with Fish and tribute 2 Oyster Meister and one other monster for Barbaros means you keep 5 monsters and destroy all cards your opponent controls. 7 Color Fish was added purely as a beatstick compared to other monsters out there I just think 7 Color would be more useful. I think I only need to discuss 1 spell and trap in here. The only spell to discuss is Moray of Greed. Its a brand new card from Stardust Overdrive that allows you to return 2 WATER monsters from your hand to the deck to draw 3 cards. With this and Pot of Avarice your deck will be stocked with Fish you can summon with Coelacanth. Fish Depth Charge is the only trap to really discuss. Tribute a Fish to destroy a card then draw 1 card. Tributing Oyster Meister results in a +1, and Fishborg Blaster you can keep summoning back by discarding a card. Its not worth it for Fish Depth Charges effect but again im pointing it out. I really like this deck and im gonna try and perfect it or something so yeah. Hope ya enjoyed reading this! Be sure to follow me and subscribe to my YouTube! =D

Well people im unhappy about Guardian Eatos, but seeing most of the Fortune Lady support as rares(hopefully their draw card will be rare or common) is a major relief, I want the Fortune Ladies pretty badly so yeah. So far the list seems alright though. Dark Simorgh as a secret rare is stupid. The card sees no play in Japan, but its apparently so "godly". Seriously? Its just another over hyped card thats gonna have a majorly inflated value. $100+ card anyone? Seriously... People the card is a decent card, but decks that run both wind and dark? I haven't seen a single deck yet in the TCG that ran both attributes and managed to make it work. Sure, we have Blackwings, and sure you can toss in Raiza. But aside from Raiza, what do you have? Take a moment. Ok, got something? Probably not. People accept the fact that Dark Simorgh isn't playable. The set looks.. interesting, but Fortune Ladies I believe will be what most people will be after in this set. Till the Special Edition gets released that is. PRAISE THE SPECIAL EDITION AND ITS REPRINTS OF $30+ cards. So yeah, I'll probably update the spoiler as more is known. PEOPLE BRING ME THE FORTUNE LADIES!

Deck Review - Possible Idea?

Remember the good ol' days when, Metagame.com was still around and they would allow people to email decks to them, and I don't know, every 2 or so weeks they'd pick one deck and review it? Well maybe I can do that here. Until I get a decent amount of viewers though I want opinions on it. You can post comments and let me know your opinion on the idea and whether or not you can help spread the word or not. Until then I can probably do decks from recent events and state what I'd change and my opinion on their decks, until I get emails from people out there that are looking to get their deck reviewed. Within the next few days I will probably look at a deck from the recent Shonen Jump Austin, Texas. Most people would expect me to review the winners deck but I more than likely wont. So yeah, stay tuned for more updates and any other ideas I may come up with.

New Layout!

I put up a new layout as you can plainly see. I think it looks pretty sexy. Anyways with that said, I'll be probably adding more and more stuff as each day goes by depending on how bored I get being stuck at home and all. I'll think of other stuff to put up as well, so stick around!

Card Of The Month! - Ancient Forest

Effect:
When you activate this card, change any Defense Position monster(s) to face-up Attack Position. Flip Effects are not activated at this time. If a monster attacks, destroy it at the end of that turn's Battle Phase.

Ancient Forest, now this is a good and cool card. I can go on and on about this card. There are 3 decks that benefit from this card something fierce. The most popular being Gladiator Beasts. Since the controller of Ancient Forest choses what resolves first in the chain from each Gladiator Beast that tries to tag out, Gladiator Beast monsters can tag freely without being destroyed. That makes things complicated for the opponent. The second popular deck is Aliens. With Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar, Alien players have the ability to not only use Gol'gar's effect to return as many face up spell or traps on the field to their owners hands, but they can get by Ancient Forest and place more A-Counters on the field. Being able to do such a thing in a deck based on A-Counters and field control, Ancient Forest is very abusive in Aliens. The last deck is one not so well known but few have thought of. Ido the Supreme Magical Force is a strategy that some have thought of trying from seeing it in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds anime when Luna had Ancient Forest on the field and the professor had Ido on the field. When Ido is destroyed by a card effect it ressurects during your standby phase. Some players have tried ideas and honestly the best is Skill Drain. Skill Drain or at least the Ido version I call IdoDrain, is based around Beast King Barbaros and Ido with Skill Drain on the field. However Ancient Forest is teched in but only 2 of them. Without Skill Drain on the field, Ido would destroy all other monsters you have when its brought back and you cannot summon any other monsters to your field. With Skill Drain out, those effects are cancelled. So as you can see Ancient Forest can be abused in different ways and there are probably even more ways to abuse it. In fact yesterday we brought up Skull Servants. Technically Skull Servants are protected by The Lady in Wight so I guess you can put Ancient Forest up there with the list of decks that can use this card more so than other decks.

Ok, now that that is all out of the way. Its about time! We are only, 5 or so days away from SD17 aka SDWS's release. I have to say Konami, you did most of this deck right. Card Trooper, Mind Control, Burden of the Mighty, Dark Bribe, Spell Striker and Silent Doom. Hell lets throw in Gemini Summoner too since it was a pack secret rare. 2 pack secret rares, 4 game promos and one kick ass duelist pack ultra. These are all going to make the deck worth it. Considering how Bribe was still going for $15-20 before confirmed reprint, Burden was $10, Mind Control was $10-15 and Silent Doom was way over valued. Considering how people will now be able to get these decks and get a lot of money cards in one deck, I gotta say im loving this. However there is one major screw up. Hidden Armory? Come on, granted Summoner Monk wasn't as bad a name change, but Hidden Armory? Armory Hole would've sounded much better than Hidden Armory. However the name does suit the cards picture, Arms Hole or Armory Hole would have been a better name to go with. Oh well, aside from that, this deck is by far the best one released. Congrats on that Konami! Im sure I speak for all of us that we cant wait for this to be released.

Im In A Junky Mood

Ok so last post I had put up, I had done something beast related with Junk Synchron. Well, I figured I would try something based on Junk Synchron all together, or at least something that works really well with it.

Monsters: 20
3 Junk Synchron
3 Tuningware
3 Darksea Rescue
3 Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy
3 Giant Germ
2 Mask of Darkness
1 Plaguespreader Zombie
1 Treeborn Frog
1 Dark Armed Dragon

Spells: 10
3 Creature Swap
3 Enemy Controller
1 Machine Duplication
1 Reinforcement of the Army
1 Heavy Storm
1 Brain Control

Traps: 10
2 Dimensional Prison
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
2 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Solemn Judgment

This is currently what I have for the deck. Now some of the monsters will seem, rather random. Giant Germ, Mask of Darkness, Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy, and so on. Well they all serve a purpose really. Junk Synchron has the ability to bring back a level 2 monster from your graveyard, of course we all already know this. The rest of the deck is where Junk Synchron becomes somewhat deadlier. In my spells I've chosen to run 3 copies of both Creature Swap and Enemy Controller. This is because with Junk Synchron, the monster I bring back I can tribute for Enemy Controllers second effect or I can use Creature Swap to swap over what I brought back and use their monster to synchro summon. Course the only down side to Creature Swap is if they give a face down monster. Still, the ability to take control of your opponents monsters like this is pretty handy. Infernal Prodigy is basically a free tribute as well if I want to use Enemy Controller or just use it with Junk Synchron to synchro summon. Tuningware is self explanatory while Darksea Rescue is not. Darksea Rescue is basically a weaker, easier to obtain Tuningware. Its Dupeable and when its used for a synchro summon, you can draw 1 card. However its only a level 1 monster. Being a dark attributed monster though makes it easier to dump darks in the graveyard for Dark Armed Dragon too. Just to let people know I have yet to test it but have put a lot of thinking into this deck and I think it will do pretty well actually.

Its been a while... Time for something new.

Well guys its been a while. Been trying to think of things to put up on here. I figured I'd put up another deck idea of mine. With the rather unoriginal idea of a new "Baboon" card being released in a few weeks, I had given it some thought and got an idea. Here it is:

Monsters - 20
3 Nimble Momonga
2 Berserk Gorilla
2 Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest
2 Manticore of Darkness
2 Bazoo the Soul-Eater
2 Junk Synchron
2 X-Saber Airbellum
2 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter
1 Neo-Spacian Dark Panther
1 Rescue Cat
1 Moja

Spells - 11
3 Book of Moon
3 Enemy Controller
2 Creature Swap
1 Heavy Storm
1 Cold Wave
1 Brain Control

Traps - 9
2 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
2 Skill Drain
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Trap Dustshoot

This is just an idea I have and really want to try. Skill Drain im iffy about but I haven't gotten to test it yet so yeah. But somehow I think it'd be something at least fun to try. Its basically like most beast based decks you may see now, but I thought of trying Junk Synchron in here as well. I use triple Enemy Controller due to Synchron's ability as well as Rescue Cat, Manticore of Darkness, Nimble Momonga, and so on. They all add tribute fodder so Enemy Controller has more use in here. Let me know what you all think of the idea/deck!

ToonDiva

So, I had a crazy idea earlier. I was going through my commons and came across Toon Summoned Skull and found myself staring at it, I had a pile of my Sea Serpent cards close by and Deep Sea Diva came to mind off the bat.

Deep Sea Diva
WATER
**
[Sea Serpent / Tuner ]
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Sea Serpent-Type monster from your Deck.
ATK/ 200 DEF/ 400

Before we look at the deck, we'll look at the card that gave me this idea, well for the most part. Diva has the ability to pull Spined Gillman, Mermaid Archer, Deep Sea Diva and the random Atlantean Pikeman from the deck. Now, since its going to be easy to pull Toon World from the deck by either drawing it or with Toon Table of Contents, and the fact that Toon Dark Magician Girl and Toon Summoned Skull can be Special Summoned by tributing 1 monster, well you can see how that works. Not only can Diva provide a monster to tribute for TDMG or TSK, but since shes a Tuner monster, you can use TDMG/TSK as synchro materials before the opponent can rid the field of Toon World. Now I also use 2 Salvage in the deck, im sure you can see why. Diva, Gillman, Archer and Mermaid are all targets for Salvage's effect. pulling back 2 Toon Mermaid, dropping them both and summoning Diva, pull another Diva from the deck, and double Synchro. Now, you may not pull that off all the time but still, its a valid example. Below is the deck.

Monsters: 20
3 Deep Sea Diva
3 Spined Gillman
3 Mermaid Archer
3 Toon Mermaid
3 Toon Summoned Skull
3 Toon Dark Magician Girl
1 Sangan
1 Atlantean Pikeman

Spells: 12
3 Toon World
3 Toon Table of Contents
2 Salvage
1 Pot of Avarice
1 Fires of Doomsday
1 Scapegoat
1 Heavy Storm

Traps: 8
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
2 Dark Bribe
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Mirror Force
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Torrential Tribute

Ok, most of it I believe I've talked about already above but Scapegoat and Fires of Doomsday I haven't talked about but they should be obvious. They provide free token monsters that I can use as tribute fodder for special summoning my Toon Summoned Skulls and Toon Dark Magician Girls, being able to tribute 2 tokens to put 2 level 6 monsters out then summon Diva, grab another Diva and double Synchro is always nice right? This is just a deck idea however and wouldn't mind trying it if I manage to get all the cards. I am thinking of siding into a full kind of Toon deck with Future Visions, Vengeful Bog Spirit and so forth. Anyways thats it for now and if I update it well you'll know so long as you keep coming back for more ;)

Shonen Jump Championship Orlando

Click Here For Coverage Of SJC Orlando

Day 1

So day 1 has already passed and I've seen some really interesting decks in the top 16. Now what will win, whos to say but it looks like Lightsworns chances of winning are pretty high. Im actually rather surprised by the number of Vayu decks that are in the top 16 too. I figured there would be more. But oh well. I've also noticed some deck with Norleras. Seems like the first time its made an appearance on the SJC top 16, however I cant really remember if its been in the top 16 before or not. Lightsworn players, nothing against you, same with Vayu players, but I'd really love to see another NEW deck win a SJC. When DrainDAD won the first jump Konami hosted at Aneheim, I was shocked and happy that something rather new won or at least placed really high. James Laurent, congratulations you got my respect for going to the jump with something interesting. Its boring when all the top decks are the same thing we see all the time. What will we see going into Day 2 today?

Day 2

Today will be the final day for the top 16 competitors, what will win? I'll update this as more rounds and other info are put up on Konami's site. Will Lightsworns finally win? Or will Vayu overcome the odds?

Well its time for the update, and it appears that Blackwings have won. Lightsworns aren't feeling the love. Why, do people insist wasting money on Lightsworns when the deck isn't really consistent? Sure half of the top 16 decks were Lightsworns, however its how the build is and how the player plays the deck. Well congratulations Rodrigo Togores, another jump down and we'll all be looking forward to the next one. What will win next time? Hopefully something new and exciting. Maybe X-Sabers? Maybe Chaos? Who knows, only time will tell.

Upcoming Releases

Stardust Overdrive Special Edition

Stardust Overdrive Special Edition combines 3 packs of the latest booster, Stardust Overdrive, with 1 of 2 powerful and highly sought-after cards: “Charge of the Light Brigade” or “Tempest Magician”!

“Charge of the Light Brigade”: Originally released as a TCG World Premiere card in The Duelist Genesis, this card is a cornerstone of the Lightsworn Deck.

“Tempest Magician”: This powerful Synchro Monster first appeared in Crossroads of Chaos and has the ability to use Spell Counters to inflict damage directly to your opponent.

Both “Charge of the Light Brigade” and “Tempest Magician” have previously been available only as hard-to-find Secret Rare cards. Now, Duelists everywhere can get their hands on these cards, with Stardust Overdrive Special Edition.

Wow guys. Charge of the Light Brigade and Tempest Magician. I gotta tell ya, I feel for players who spend their hard earned cash from working on these cards, they have got to be hurting. First with Gladiator Beast Heraklinos in "The Duelist Genesis Special Edition" back when Gladiator Beasts were the big thing. Il Blud, another major Secret Rare was also reprinted, and its value took a big hit. Major playable cards that have seen play however in the past year or so that have been reprinted in these special editions would be Necroface, Goblin Zombie, Allure of Darkness and The Dark Creator. Necroface was used as tech in some decks for returning Malicious from their remove from play back to the deck so they could reuse it, some still use this card for very similar reasons. Goblin Zombie is another popular card now that Mezuki has gone to 2 now instead of 1, and while we have yet to see how Zombies will play out in this current format, at least they have more support now. Allure of Darkness, who doesn't use this in any DARK based deck? I dont really need to explain Allure do I? The Dark Creator doesn't see too much play except in Hopeless Dragon really. We'll come back to Hopeless Dragon in a bit too.

Charge of the Light Brigade

Normal Spell Card

Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard. Add 1 Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monster from your Deck to your hand.

This will be one reprint we're all looking forward to. Who wouldn't like to have a currently $55-60 card in a cheaper yet still foil version? If you're a "budget" player, you gotta be feeling good right now. I tell ya, being one of those "Good Trader/Budget Player" type of guys, I am very happy about this. I dont have the cards to get Charges right now since their price is a little overboard, in fact this card shouldn't have ever been a secret rare. I guess UDE should've made Reinforcement of the Army, E-Emergency Call, Gladiator Proving Ground and hell, even Terraforming all secret rares. Gladiator Proving Ground more so than the others, except Reinforcement of the Army. Only because Gladiators were basically the equivalent to what Lightsworns are now, and seeing as how Charge is the same as Proving Ground basically, well you see what im getting at. I think everyone will welcome this reprint and a lot of new decks may spring up and take the scene. Congrats on a good choice Konami!

Tempest Magician
DARK
******
[Spellcaster / Synchro / Effect]
ATK/ 2200 DEF/ 1400
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Spellcaster-Type monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, place 1 Spell Counter on it. Once per turn, you can discard any number of cards to place 1 Spell Counter on a monster(s) you control for each card you discarded. You can remove all Spell Counters on the field to inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each removed Spell Counter.

Tempest Magician is going to be another welcomed reprint, and a reprint that makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Stardust Overdrive consists of new Spellcaster support which if memory serves also work with Spell Counters. Now im not entirely sure if people will really use this card, in fact it already has an inflated value that isn't even worth it since not many people use the card as it is. Sure it's not completely useful this format or even last format, but it is a card that people wouldn't mind adding to their collection so this is another good choice for a special edition. Even though there was more for Charge for me to say, I cant really say much for this card since I dont really care for it.

Twilight Edition

Combining the best of the game's LIGHT and DARK monsters, the Twilight Edition allows all fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's TRADING CARD GAME to have easy access to “Honest” – one of the most recent powerful cards!

In addition to the 1 “Honest” card included with every Twilight Edition, Duelists also get 3 packs showcasing some of the best LIGHT and DARK monsters from the last 2 years. Twilight Edition brings together in 1 package what many Duelists have already figured out on their own — that combining LIGHT and DARK together can build one of the strongest Decks that exist!

Twilight Edition contents:

  • 1 Ultra-Rare variant "Honest"
  • 1 pack of Light of Destruction
  • 1 pack of Phantom Darkness
  • 1 pack of Tactical Evolution
Well would you look at this, Lightsworns get even cheaper. I dont really need to put up Honests effect and stats do I? Any player with half a brain should know what this card does and I dont think I have to go into detail on this reprint. 2 good booster sets with a rather random set I guess. Imagine, pulling a second Honest or a Judgment Dragon with a Dark Armed Dragon. Well, no one is that lucky but still. Being able to get 2 really good sets in one, especially since Phantom Darkness can only be obtained in certain collector tins now and its the only other way of getting Dark Armed Dragon and you can get other good cards from it too.

Ancient Prophecy Special Edition

Ancient Prophecy Special Edition gives Duelists another chance to get all their favorite cards from the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME booster release! Each Special Edition box comes with three packs of Ancient Prophecy and 1 of 2 Super Rare variant cards: “Solar Recharge” or “Red-Eyes Wyvern.

“Solar Recharge”: Previously released only as an Ultra Rare in Light of Destruction, this card is critical to the popular Lightsworn Deck archetype.

“Red-Eyes Wyvern”: Available for the first time ever in North America, this Dragon is a vital combo card for any modern Dragon Deck.

Solar Recharge
Normal Spell Card
Discard 1 "Lightsworn" monster. Draw 2 cards, then send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

First reprint from this Special Edition. Since Ancient Prophecy Special Edition is coming out before the Stardust Overdrive one, this means Lightsworn players will get their draw card first, and unfortunately have to wait 2 months. I dont really need to explain this card at all either. But budget Lightsworn decks have become a reality, im happy because I had all my Lightsworn cards(minus Honest, Charge and Judgment Dragon) but couldn't run it at a competitive level really. Lightsworn players, Konami seems to really like you.

Red-Eyes Wyvern
WIND
****
[Dragon / Effect]
ATK/ 1800 DEF/ 1600
During your End Phase, if you did not Normal Summon or Set a monster this turn, you can remove from play this card from your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes" monster from your Graveyard, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick".

This is where I get back to the whole Hopeless Dragon thing, Red-Eyes Wyvern is the second card in the upcoming special edition and if you read its effect you can see how it fits in Hopeless Dragon. Solid stats, decent effect, just isn't a DARK monster. But thats not what really matters, least not entirely. This card has so far only been printed once in Europe and Australia or something, not sure and too lazy to look, but now it has an easy and cheap reprint for all you Hopeless Dragon fans and players out there, Konami is on a ball. Just dont fuck it up Konami!

Warriors’ Strike Structure Deck

Warriors’ Strike is a ready-to-play Structure Deck combining Warriors, Equip Cards, and Gemini Monsters. Warriors’ Strike has everything a Duelist will need including Deck, rulebook, deluxe game mat, and Dueling Guide with instructions on how to enhance the Deck.

Structure Decks are perfect for Duelists who know the basic rules, but are looking for a launching point for a competitive Deck for tournament use. Seasoned Duelists will enjoy the 6 new cards in Warriors’ Strike, while casual Duelists will find the cards needed to be more competitive!

Includes the highly-anticipated “Hidden Armory” Spell Card, plus reprints of the “Dark Bribe” and “Burden of the Mighty” promo cards!

Structure Deck Contents:

  • 37 Common Cards
  • 2 Super Rare Cards
  • 1 Ultra Rare Card
  • 1 Rulebook
  • 1 Deluxe Game Mat
  • 1 Dueling Guide

Ok now I decided I wanted to add this onto the list of things in upcoming releases cause I wanted to talk about it. As you can see we already have some amazing reprints confirmed as well as a very high in demand card from Japan. "Arms Hole" or "Hidden Armory" is quite the amazing spell card that we needed a long time ago.

Hidden Armory
Normal Spell Card
Send a card from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard. Select 1 Equip Spell Card from your Deck or Graveyard and add it to your hand. You cannot Normal Summon or Set this turn.

There were many decks focused on using this in some way. The two most popular ways to use it was with the last Explosion OTK deck using Kuraz, Premature Burial and D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation and then there was the Brionac loop with Premature Burial and Rescue Cat where you would use Hidden Armory to search for Premature, use Rescue Cat to get out Airbellum with something else, Synchro into Brionac and use Premature, get Cat, use Brionac to return Premature to your hand, use Cat to Synchro again, and im sure you can see how it works. Brionac is also an upcoming card to be released in Hidden Arsenal which is a set based on the Duel Terminal cards. Since I dont have much knowledge of Japans Duel Terminal sets, I wont cover Hidden Arsenal in this blog. But you see how Hidden Armory is good and how people will be looking forward to it. There are other various cards in here that we have yet to have confirmation on but we may see future common versions of the following: Card Trooper, Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord, Mind Control, Spell Striker and Silent Doom.

I figured covering at least some of the upcoming releases would be a good long blog or whatever to do, and this is pretty long if you asked me. I hope you enjoy the read and hope you keep coming back for more. =)

Trade Binder 9-18-09

Please read the rules!

R u l e S
1. I DO NOT SEND FIRST! Check my Pojo account: `eXtreme. I have 102 References there, I've traded near 200+ times with mkohl40(Robbie Kohl) and 100+ TeamImpactJT(JT) and I had to send first to both of them, every time, if you need MORE proof, ask them how trust worthy I am.
2. I only want my wants people! If you dont have any of my wants, I'll probably ignore you. You will get my attention easier if you LIST WHAT YOU HAVE!
3. Adding postage stamps to any trade we may have would be a big help since im currently low on them.
4. I do not rip, please do not throw away my trust by ripping me in any way. My mom sends out my mail, she brings home my mail, shes the one that sends out peoples stuff when she heads off to school. If you're end doesn't show up, you can always talk to her.
5. Dont make stupid offers. On Pojo they are welcome as free bumps. They dont do anything for YouTube, please no stupid offers.
6. If you are on Pojo, we'll confirm the trade on there and without any arguing, use the references we have on there.
7. It may not be a "trading" rule on YouTube but I still go by it very strictly. If I do not receive your end within 30 days of confirmation, you will be informed and I'll have to start a blacklist on here. Since I cant really negative reference someone on YouTube. However mkohl40, TeamImpactJT and other of my friends who trade on YouTube will be informed and possibly blacklist you too.
8. No backing out after a trade is confirmed.
9. I DO NOT BUY OR SELL, LEAST NOT RIGHT NOW, DONT ASK!!!

First Blog

Hey you guys, Kyle here. I figured I'd post up a "First Blog" kind of thing seeing as how, well you know, its a new blog and its like new shoes. Gotta break'em in. So yeah, welcome to my blog and there'll be probably a bunch of rants as well as trade binder videos and so forth, so expect to see a lot. I added a chat box at the bottom for people to chat in if they feel like chatting and if you want to talk to me, if you're on Pojo or YouTube my Pojo name(currently, will be changed next month) is `eXtreme and my YouTube name is TeamDeception09. Feel free to message me on either of those sites. Also, just to let people know, trading with people I will no matter what go by my references on Pojo, which currently stand at 102(99%). So yeah, subscribe to me on YouTube and be sure to check back here every so often since I'll try to have updates as often as possible and I'll put up some recent stuff I've done on YouTube shortly after this blog.
